Minister of Human Resources and Social Welfare Mo’tasem Ahmed Saleh discussed with a World Food Programme (WFP) delegation led by Mr. Jean Martin ways to strengthen cooperation in food security, social protection and support for the most vulnerable groups.
The two sides agreed to establish a joint technical team and prepare a memorandum of understanding to regulate the partnership. The WFP also expressed its readiness to consider supporting the voluntary return programme and assisting returnees, in addition to supporting productive households, small enterprises, and programmes targeting youth and women.
The minister stressed the importance of the partnership in supporting recovery, economically empowering citizens, and transitioning from aid to production and sustainable development.
