The General Coordination of Displacement and Refugee Camps in Darfur said nearly 1,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) arrived at Tawila camps in North Darfur State between September 2 and 11, including 193 families, after fleeing various areas of Kordofan and Darfur.
The Coordination said the new arrivals are facing shortages of food, medicine, drinking water, shelter, and health services amid drought and a lack of humanitarian assistance. It called on humanitarian organizations and UN agencies to intervene urgently to provide essential supplies and services to the IDPs.
