The “No to Oppressing Women” initiative said the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia is holding more than 600 women in Nyala prison in South Darfur, some with their children, under harsh conditions and without access to healthcare, food, or water.
The initiative called for the immediate release of all detainees, guaranteed access to medical and humanitarian aid, the launch of an independent international investigation, and accountability for those responsible.
