UN Official: Sudan Humanitarian Response Funding Reaches $1.2 Billion in 2026

UN Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan Denise Brown said humanitarian response funding in Sudan reached $1.9 billion in 2025, while it amounted to $1.2 billion since the beginning of 2026.

Brown noted that these amounts remain below the actual level of humanitarian needs, explaining that the impact of humanitarian assistance ends as soon as funding stops, underscoring the need for long-term strategic investment.
