Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) – The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said drone strikes targeted two warehouses in Sheikan Locality, North Kordofan State, on September 20, destroying more than 292,000 schoolbooks and 40,000 Arabic-language and mathematics revision books, along with other educational materials.

The organization said the materials had been designated for distribution to schools in West Bara, Bara, and Om Dam beginning next October, noting that their destruction will affect the education of thousands of children.

UNICEF Representative in Sudan Angela Kearney said the destruction of educational materials represents a setback for children, calling on all parties to protect civilians, infrastructure, and educational supplies.
