Egypt, France Discuss Sudan, Stress Need for Humanitarian Truce

Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel Aaty discussed developments in Sudan with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, underscoring the importance of reaching a humanitarian truce as a step toward a comprehensive ceasefire.
The Egyptian foreign minister stressed the need to launch an inclusive political process with Sudanese ownership, and to establish safe humanitarian corridors to ensure the unhindered delivery of assistance to the Sudanese people.
Abdel Aaty also briefed the French minister on Egypt’s efforts within the Quadripartite Mechanism aimed at supporting stability in Sudan, according to a statement by Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
