Minister of Justice Dr. Abdullah Mohamed Dirif has arrived in Geneva, heading Sudan’s delegation to the 61st UN Human Rights Council session, being held February 23–March 31.
He was received upon arrival by Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Hassan Hamid.
Minister Dirif is scheduled to deliver Sudan’s national statement during the high-level segment of the general debate on February 25, followed by Sudan’s intervention in the interactive dialogue session on February 26.
On the sidelines of the session, the Minister will hold a series of high-level meetings, including with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the President of the Human Rights Council, and the designated expert on the human rights situation in Sudan, in addition to bilateral talks with counterparts from participating delegations.
