The Armed Forces condemned the daily artillery and strategic drone attacks on Babanusa city by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia of the Dagalo family, dismissing their recent ceasefire announcement as a political maneuver aimed at misleading international opinion.
In a statement, the Armed Forces’ spokesperson said the RSF militia continues to target Babanusa while claiming a unilateral ceasefire. Monday’s attack was decisively repelled by Armed Forces. The spokesperson described the ceasefire, announced by RSF leader Hemeidti, as a misleading tactic to obscure field operations and ongoing support from the United Arab Emirates.
The Armed Forces reaffirmed their commitment to international humanitarian law, civilian protection, and facilitating humanitarian aid, warning that the crisis must not be exploited to justify military operations. They pledged to continue safeguarding the state and its citizens with full responsibility and competence.
