The Humanitarian Research Laboratory (HRL) at Yale University has warned of the possibility that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) may impose a siege on the city of Al-Obeid, after detecting extensive defensive preparations and a worsening humanitarian crisis via satellite imagery.
The laboratory explained that its analysis revealed the construction of new earthen barriers around key exit points and critical infrastructure, noting that these movements align with preparations for a siege, while certain locations are being withheld to protect the civilian population’s safety.
