The government of North Kordofan State condemned the attack carried out by the Al-Dagalo militia on a vehicle carrying displaced persons (IDPs) from the Debeikir area in South Kordofan State while en route to Al-Rahad city. The assault resulted in the martyrdom of 24 unarmed civilians, including women and children, and injured others.
In an official statement, the government described the systematic and repeated attack as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, which may amount to a war crime and a crime against humanity. It called on the international community and the UN Security Council to take urgent action to hold those responsible accountable and prevent the recurrence of such violations.
The North Kordofan government extended its condolences to the victims’ families and wished a swift recovery to the injured, affirming its confidence in the Sudanese Armed Forces to protect civilians and maintain security and stability.
