Baku, (Nabaa Sudan) – Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Hassan Daod Kabrun met Tuesday with his Azerbaijani counterpart, General Zakir Hasanov, in Baku to advance military and defense cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, Kabrun received an official invitation to attend Azerbaijan’s largest joint military exercise, which will feature the use of new weapons for the first time.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of Kabrun’s participation in the Sixth International Defense Exhibition of Azerbaijan (ADEX 2026), accompanied by Deputy Director General of the Defense Industries System Major General Al-Mo’tasem Abdullah Al-Haj.
The two ministers discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between their military and defense institutions, exchange expertise and experience, and reviewed bilateral relations as well as recently concluded agreements and memoranda of understanding.
Kabrun expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, and independence, as well as its support for efforts to achieve peace and stability, attention to the humanitarian situation, and efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people.
The two ministers affirmed their countries’ commitment to continued coordination and to taking bilateral relations to broader horizons. They also commended their mutual positions at regional and international forums and stressed the need to build on progress achieved across various fields.
