The National Committee for Mobilization and Popular Resistance, headed by Lt. Gen. Bashir Makki Al-Bahi and with the participation of all its members, held a high-level meeting with North Kordofan State Wali Abdel Khaliq Abdel Latif Wadaat Allah, as part of the committee’s field visits to inspect and activate the Popular Resistance amid the complex circumstances and the continued targeting facing the state.
Lt. Gen. Bashir Makki Al-Bahi, said following the meeting that the visit was aimed at discussing ways to strengthen and support the Popular Resistance in confronting the militia’s targeting. He dismissed all rumors circulating about El Obeid being under threat. Al-Bahi pointed out that claims promoted by some UN organizations regarding the need to open safe corridors for civilians to leave have no basis in fact, affirming that the committee found El Obeid to be completely safe, reassured, and stable.
He praised the efforts of the State Security Committee, in coordination with the command-and-control rooms, in supporting the Armed Forces with resources and personnel, considering that the coming days would witness important practical steps based on the broad consensus reached during the meeting to defeat all hostile plans.
For his part, North Kordofan State Wali Abdel Khaliq Wadaat Allah welcomed the visit by the National Committee, expressing the state’s and its capital city El Obeid’s appreciation for this important visit, particularly following the recent drone attacks and the misleading media campaigns launched by the militia’s media outlets to spread fear.
The Wali said that an agreement had been reached with the committee to intensify mobilization efforts across the state, particularly in El Obeid, to ensure the continued support of the people for the Battle of Dignity and for the Armed Forces. He noted that the plan aims for the Popular Resistance to assume responsibility for securing cities, villages, and rural areas through qualified support battalions, allowing the army to focus on accelerating military operations and defeating the rebellion.
The Wali concluded by noting that activating the Popular Resistance would extend to other vital areas alongside military efforts, including health support, ensuring the flow of essential goods, and protecting villages and the promising agricultural season. He affirmed that the visit provided a firsthand assessment of the state’s security situation and laid the foundation for a new phase of stability and victory.
