Deaths Reported as Tribal Clashes Erupt in Eastern and Southern Darfur

Security tensions have escalated in parts of East Darfur in recent hours after residents in Al-Firdous locality rejected a mobilization campaign to join the ranks of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, triggering an exchange of fire and deaths, alongside deadly tribal clashes between the Habbaniyah and Rizeigat.

According to information from local sources, three vehicles belonging to the mobilization committee traveled from Al-Daein to Al-Firdous, led by RSF sector commander Saboun Adam Saboun, in an effort to mobilize young people to join the fighting.

The move was met with opposition from residents who gathered in Al-Dabib neighborhood in Al-Firdous and rejected the mobilization. Tensions quickly escalated into an armed confrontation, resulting, according to the sources, in the death of Saboun Adam Saboun and the burning of the three vehicles.
