The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, met on Tuesday with Sudan’s President of Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, during his visit to Port Sudan.

The minister conveyed the greetings of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, affirming Egypt’s full support for Sudan’s stability, security, and sovereignty, emphasizing the historic and brotherly ties between the two nations and the importance of strengthening solidarity with Sudan’s national institutions, foremost among them the Armed Forces.

The ministry added that the minister reiterated Egypt’s support for the “Government of Hope” and condemned the violations and atrocities committed in the city of El-Fashir. He stressed Egypt’s continued efforts to achieve stability and a ceasefire, both bilaterally and through regional and international forums, particularly the International Quartet, in pursuit of a comprehensive settlement of the Sudanese crisis.

The meeting also addressed the issue of water security, affirming the unified stance of both countries as downstream states of the Nile River, their commitment to international law governing the Eastern Nile Basin, and their rejection of any unilateral measures.

For his part, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan conveyed his greetings to President El-Sisi, expressing his appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast support for Sudan and commending the historic and fraternal relations between the two nations.
