The Dar Hamar Emergency Room has issued an urgent appeal over the deteriorating humanitarian and health conditions in the northern localities of West Kordofan State, warning of worsening conditions due to soaring food and drinking water prices, as well as the spread of a cholera outbreak.

The group said the area is facing a severe shortage of life-saving medicines, particularly insulin and other diabetes medications, further worsening the condition of patients with diabetes and kidney disease amid the lack of treatment and medical care.

The Dar Hamar Emergency Room called on the authorities to intervene immediately and reopen Al-Khuwai–Al-Nohod road to lift the blockade on the area and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid and medical supplies to those affected.
