Interior Minister, Lt. Gen. (Police) Babiker Samra Mustafa, confirmed the continued flow of advanced weapons into Darfur in large quantities, in blatant defiance of relevant international resolutions.
During his meeting with the UN Expert Panel on Resolution 1591, the minister renewed his accusations against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its involvement in sending weapons to Darfur.
He explained that the international community’s silence toward Abu Dhabi regime, alongside neighbouring countries through which arms transit—including Libya, Chad, and African ports—directly contributed to serious violations against civilians, the latest being El-Fashir massacre.
The minister emphasized that the upcoming UN report must present the unvarnished facts regarding the supporting and importing entities of these weapons, noting that their continued flow in full view of the world constitutes a crime against the Sudanese people.
