Minister of Justice, Dr. Abdullah Dirif, met on Wednesday with the Secretary-General of the Sudanese Workers’ Tarde Union Federation (SWTUF), Dr. Misbah Mohamed Misbah, in the presence of union leaders, to discuss the federation’s activities domestically and internationally and its role in supporting national issues and conveying Sudan’s position on violations abroad.
The meeting also reviewed the work of trade unions and their plans for the upcoming period, including their role in supporting the armed forces during the “Battle of Dignity.”
The minister received a copy of a draft amendment to the Trade Unions Act and pledged to study it, with both sides agreeing to organise a workshop involving relevant stakeholders to discuss the proposed changes in line with international and regional conventions.
Both parties stressed the importance of coordination between the Ministry of Justice and the trade union federation to develop union work and update the legal framework governing it.
