The Khartoum Locality Security Committee has adopted a package of measures aimed at strengthening security, combating crime and addressing negative practices, including enforcing a decision requiring the installation of surveillance cameras in public-sector facilities and commercial shops.
The committee stressed a ban on firing live ammunition during celebrations and instructed law-enforcement agencies to take the necessary measures against violators.
It also ordered a ban on allowing irregularly resident foreign nationals to travel on intercity buses and public transportation, directing authorities to apprehend violators and hand them over to the competent authorities.
The committee further decided to intensify joint security patrols and establish security checkpoints in vital areas, gathering points and locations considered security-vulnerable, with the aim of strengthening security control and curbing crime.
