Middle East Eye: Secret UK Meeting on Sudan’s Future with Participation of Figures Linked to the UAE-Backed RSF Militia

Middle East Eye has reported that the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office hosted a closed-door diplomatic meeting at the Wilton Park conference centre to discuss Sudan's future, with the participation of Nasr-Eddin Abdul-Bari, a leading figure in the Ta'sis coalition, which is associated with the political wing of the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, along with individuals aligned with the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to the report, the meeting is being held from Wednesday through Friday, while the Sudanese government backed by the Sudanese Armed Forces was not invited to participate.

Citing British government sources, Middle East Eye said the meeting was conducted in secret, with no official disclosure of the participants or the nature of the discussions.

The participation of figures linked to the RSF has drawn criticism from Sudanese officials. A senior adviser to Sudan's Transitional Sovereignty Council was quoted as saying that London's decision to host such figures contradicts its previous positions regarding the abuses attributed to the RSF militia.
