Khartoum State Police's General Directorate for Combating Smuggling has rescued 74 foreign hostages, arrested 12 suspects, and seized large quantities of weapons, ammunition, equipment, and vehicles in a major security operation that resulted in the raid of a human trafficking hideout.

Brig. Gen. Abbas Dinar, Director of the General Directorate for Combating Smuggling in Khartoum State, said the operation was carried out in close coordination with the Military Police and resulted in the raid of a hideout used by a human trafficking gang.

He said the security forces seized three DShK heavy machine guns, two Goryunov machine guns, 16 Kalashnikov rifles and sniper rifles, five pistols, 4,160 rounds of DShK ammunition, 178 rounds of 23 mm ammunition, and six RPG rounds.

Brig. Gen. Dinar added that the force also seized four Starlink terminals, two pickup trucks, including a Toyota Tundra. He noted that the operation is part of ongoing security efforts to combat organized crime, eliminate the sources of human trafficking, and counter criminal activities that exploit the prevailing security and humanitarian situation for unlawful gain.
