Nearly 3,800 kidney failure patients in Sudan have died during the first year of the ongoing war, the Center for Kidney Diseases and Surgery reported.
Dr. Nizar Zalfo, the centre’s director, attributed the deaths to severe shortages of medications and the suspension of dialysis treatments. The toll represents roughly 50% of the country’s 8,000 kidney failure patients during the same period, according to Sudan Tribune.
