Tianjin, (SUNA) – Minister of Minerals Nour Al-Daim Taha discussed with Chinese Vice Minister of Natural Resources and Head of the China Geological Survey Xu Da Chun ways to strengthen Sudanese-Chinese cooperation in geology, mining and mineral exploration. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Tianjin.

The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation and benefiting from Chinese expertise and technologies in geological surveying, exploration and assessment, as well as knowledge and technology transfer and capacity building.

The meeting also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Sudan Geological Research Authority and the China Geological Survey to enhance cooperation in geological surveying, mineral exploration and research, data and expertise exchange, training, and the use of modern technologies.
