The Undersecretary of Planning at the Ministry of Finance, reviewed the findings of the IFAD mission assessing the Sustainable Natural Resources and Livelihoods Project (SNRLP). Bashar reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to the project’s local component and timely payment of IFAD’s dues, with 2026 allocations already included in the budget.

IFAD’s Country Office Director, Rasha Omar, highlighted progress across River Nile, Gezira, Sennar, and Kassala states, noting strong community organization, effective coordination with state authorities, successful seed distribution, and significant income-generating activities for women, including in conflict-affected areas.

The project seeks to enhance food security, increase productivity, ensure sustainable access to natural resources, and promote community-based governance and inclusive value chains.
