Khartoum, (Nabaa Sudan) — Members of the Preparatory Committee for the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue met in Khartoum with a visiting British government delegation led by British Special Envoy for Sudan Richard Crowder.
The meeting reviewed the committee’s role as an independent, non-partisan national initiative aimed at creating the conditions for an inclusive Sudanese dialogue inside the country, with the participation of political and civil forces, native administration leaders, women, youth, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees.
The two sides discussed the principles and procedural issues needed for a successful dialogue, as well as the challenges facing efforts to bring Sudanese parties together and draw on lessons from previous dialogue initiatives.
Both sides stressed the importance of inclusive dialogue in ending the war and the need to continue coordination and pool efforts to end the suffering of the Sudanese people.
