A source in the Joint Operations Room of the Sudanese army told Al Jazeera that the armed forces have completed preparations for the largest joint military operation aimed at liberating the states of Kordofan and Darfur.
The source explained that previous military movements came within the framework of studying the theatre of operations, assessing the enemy’s capabilities and resources, as well as measuring the chances of success of the operation and addressing potential vulnerabilities. He noted that the anticipated operation surpasses, in terms of planning and indicators of success, the operations carried out during the battles to liberate Khartoum.
The source confirmed that the army possesses a large number of military formations ready for the launch of the operation, pointing out that the retreat of enemy forces is due to their inability to engage in long-term battles, unlike regular armies that conduct their operations according to complex military calculations.
