The National Centre for Kidney Diseases and Transplantation has confirmed that kidney-transplant medication supplies remain stable across all states for 2024–2025. A new shipment of essential drugs has arrived at the National Medical Supplies Fund (NMSF) and is set for urgent distribution once logistical procedures are completed.

The Center explained that medications are distributed to ten states based on actual needs and monthly consumption, noting fluctuations caused by patient movement between states and returnees from abroad. Despite supply-chain challenges, including delayed shipments and hesitant suppliers, grants have helped maintain stability, with only a minor shortage affecting two types of medications last month—promptly resolved through stock redistribution.

Additionally, the Centre has launched a patient registration program for medical cards and case documentation, beginning 30 November 2025 in Kassala, Al-Gadarif, and Sennar, with other states to follow. A central pharmacy in Kafouri will start operating in early January, providing easier access to medications and free Prograf testing once equipment is in place.
