Doha, (Nabaa Sudan) – A delegation from the Advisory Office of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) for Organizations and Humanitarian Affairs, during an official visit to the State of Qatar, discussed enhancing humanitarian cooperation and supporting efforts to transition from the emergency phase to recovery and development in Sudan.
The delegation comprised the TSC Advisory Office’s Executive Director, Major General Mojahid Abdel-Jabbar; Major General (Intelligence) Mashaer Yousuf; and Dr. Amal Ibrahim Al-Sheikh. The delegation met with officials from Qatar Charity, the Qatar Red Crescent Society, and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
The meetings addressed ways to enhance humanitarian and health assistance, support recovery and development projects and voluntary returns, as well as the challenges facing organizations operating in Sudan, particularly logistical and customs procedures that hinder the delivery of aid.
The Qatari institutions affirmed their continued support for Sudan. The Qatar Red Crescent Society also announced the arrival of medical aid as part of a program involving 72 trucks carrying medicines and medical equipment, while continuing coordination with the Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
The two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in building the capacities of humanitarian workers and organizing specialized workshops and events. The delegation underscored the importance of continued coordination to address the challenges facing humanitarian work and accelerate the implementation of recovery and development projects in Sudan.
