President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Tuesday offered condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and members of the ruling family at Lusail Palace on the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of the State of Qatar.
The TSC President conveyed the deep condolences of the Sudanese leadership and people to the Qatari leadership and people over this great loss, affirming Sudan's solidarity and support for the leadership and people of the sisterly State of Qatar during this difficult time.
He praised the historic and honorable contributions of the late Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, highlighting his role in achieving development, progress, and prosperity for the State of Qatar.
The President expressed Sudan's deep appreciation for the late Emir's positions in support of Sudan and its causes at regional and international forums, as well as his efforts to elevate bilateral relations to strategic levels. He stressed that the late Emir's generous contributions would remain forever remembered by the Sudanese people, who greatly valued his noble stances and would never forget his continued support for humanitarian efforts in Sudan and his contributions to peace initiatives.
Al-Burhan reaffirmed the shared commitment to developing and strengthening the deep-rooted relations between the two sisterly countries under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, in a manner that serves the aspirations of both peoples, while emphasizing the historic ties that bind them.
For his part, the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressed his appreciation for the visit, emphasizing the close fraternal relations and enduring bonds between the two sisterly peoples and expressing his hope for further expanding cooperation.
The TSC President was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ambassador Mohieddin Salem, Minister of Finance Dr. Gebreil Ibrahim, and Director General of the General Intelligence Service General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal.
