President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived Tuesday in Muscat on an official visit.
He was received at Al-Baraka Palace by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman.
The two sides held official talks, reviewing longstanding fraternal ties and exploring ways to deepen cooperation across key sectors in support of mutual interests.
Talks also addressed regional developments amid rising tensions, with both sides underscoring the need to strengthen security and stability regionally and internationally.
General Al-Burhan reaffirmed Sudan’s firm support for the stability and sovereignty of Oman and the Gulf states, stressing Sudan’s condemnation and rejection of Iranian attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The TSC President expressed appreciation for the warm reception, commending Oman’s pivotal support to Sudan and highlighting the strong historical bonds between the two nations. He affirmed Sudan’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in line with the aspirations of both peoples.
He also thanked the government and people of Oman for their generous hospitality toward Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the Sultanate due to the war.
For his part, Sultan Haitham bin Tarik welcomed the visit, praising the strength of Sudanese-Omani relations and the longstanding bonds between the two peoples.
He affirmed Oman’s commitment to advancing existing cooperation and opening new avenues for bilateral engagement, expressing appreciation for Sudan’s supportive stance toward Gulf stability and sovereignty.
Both sides agreed to maintain close consultation and coordination across all fields.
The TSC President was accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim and Director of the General Intelligence Service General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and was joined by Sudan’s Ambassador to Oman, Ambassador Issam Awad Ahmed Metwally.
