The Turkish Ambassador to Sudan, Fathi Yildiz, affirmed that his country will not abandon Sudan during the current circumstances, emphasizing the continued support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, alongside the ongoing arrival of Turkish ships delivering humanitarian aid.
Speaking at a seminar organized by the “Association of Peoples” in Port Sudan, he stated that Sudan’s post-war recovery will serve as a catalyst for the revival of the entire region. He reiterated Turkey’s support for Sudan’s unity and sovereignty, noting that its relations with Khartoum go beyond formal agreements to become “genuine heartfelt bonds.”
Head of the “Association of Peoples,” Omar Nimir, highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships between Sudan and its brotherly nations, particularly Turkey, to support development and stability.
Meanwhile, Sudanese Ambassador to Turkey, Nadir Youssef, emphasized Turkey’s role in maintaining Red Sea balance and revealed that bilateral trade reached $680 million in 2022 before declining to $390 million due to the war, expressing optimism for future growth.
He also praised the Turkish media’s role in supporting Sudan and reshaping perceptions of the conflict, noting that over 12,000 tons of Turkish humanitarian aid have arrived, with expectations of facilitating access for Sudanese businessmen, patients, and students to Turkey.
