Sudan’s National Congress Party (NCP) has warned that the ongoing conflict in the country is entering a new phase that goes beyond the military dimension to encompass economic confrontation and diplomatic escalation, calling for urgent national measures to address the economic repercussions and restore the spirit of popular mobilization.

In a press statement issued Wednesday and signed by its designated leader, Ahmed Mohamed Haroun, the party said the current phase is witnessing attempts to push some neighboring countries into direct military roles, alongside efforts in international forums to impose restrictions on the state’s access to arms and promote accusations concerning the use of chemical weapons.

The statement called on the authorities and national forces to move from a stage of complaint to taking practical decisions to address the economic situation by mobilizing national expertise and engaging society, stressing that reaching the “moment of peace” will come through comprehensive dialogue bringing together all Sudanese people after thwarting the plans of aggression and convincing those backing them that their objectives cannot be achieved.
