Moscow (Nabaa Sudan) – The Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow has awarded an honorary doctorate to the President of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC), General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan.
The award ceremony took place during his visit to the university, on the sidelines of his participation in the Third Russia–Africa Summit in Moscow on October 28 and 29.
The university said the honorary degree was awarded in recognition of his efforts to develop Sudanese–Russian relations and strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between the two countries
Al-Burhan is currently in Moscow heading a high-level delegation that includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of Finance, the Director of the General Intelligence Service, and the Director of the Defence Industries System. He is scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday to discuss reconstruction, energy, and mining.
