The Secretary-General of the North Kordofan State Government and Acting Wali, Dr. Al-Amin Shaib, received on Saturday a United Nations delegation and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), led by UN Resident Coordinator Ms. Denise Brown, in the presence of the State Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid.

The Acting Wali expressed appreciation for continued UN attention to the state, particularly regarding internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those affected by the war, affirming commitment to facilitating humanitarian operations and removing obstacles.

Ms. Brown expressed satisfaction with her third visit, praising cooperation from state authorities and the Humanitarian Aid Commission.

The State Commissioner, Dr. Mohamed Ismail, said the visit is part of field missions that began in March to assess the humanitarian situation of displaced persons, noting that shelter needs and response efforts were reviewed.

He said more than $10 million has been allocated to humanitarian organizations for water supply, shelter support, sanitation services, and cash assistance, adding that expansion of projects was pledged.

He also thanked the Federal Humanitarian Aid Commission for facilitating humanitarian operations and accelerating aid delivery.
