In his first activity since arriving in Sudan, the newly appointed Saudi Ambassador launched the free Noor Saudi Arabia Volunteer Project to combat blindness and the diseases that cause it at Makkah Eye Hospital in Port Sudan.
The project is being implemented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre in cooperation with Al-Basar International Foundation. The initiative aims to perform 1,000 surgical operations in two phases.
The launch ceremony was attended by the Wali of Red Sea State, the State Director-General of Health, and the Regional Director of Al-Basar International Foundation in Sudan.
