ST. PETERSBURG, Russia (Nabaa Sudan) – Red Sea State Wali Mustafa Mohamed Nour and his accompanying delegation have arrived in the Russian city of St. Petersburg to launch a sister-city partnership with Port Sudan, in a move aimed at strengthening Sudanese-Russian relations.
The initiative coincides with the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sudan and Russia and comes ahead of the Russian-African Summit scheduled for 28–29 October.
