Cabinet Governance Sector Approves Leadership Development, Governance and Human Rights Programs

The Governance and Administration Sector of the Council of Ministers, at its meeting on Thursday chaired by Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Hassan Kabrun, approved the national program for developing senior management and enhancing the efficiency of leadership, as well as strengthening results-based leadership.

The meeting also approved the project to establish the Supreme Council for Good Governance, with emphasis on creating a unified national system for the electronic preservation and management of documents.

The sector also discussed projects of the Ministry of Interior related to enforcing the authority of the state, upholding the rule of law, maintaining internal security, and strengthening the role of Civil Defense forces in disaster response, in addition to combating smuggling and protecting borders and natural reserves.

 

It further reviewed initiatives aimed at promoting human rights, affirming the mandate of the Ministry of Justice over the state’s legal affairs.

The sector also underscored the importance of strengthening decentralized governance to improve basic services, achieve balanced development, promote social peace, and coordinate work between central, state, and local levels of government, while enhancing the efficiency of administrative bodies in the states.
