The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced the launch of a new campaign to vaccinate nearly half a million children against polio in the Central and West Darfur regions.
In a post on X, UNICEF said vaccination teams will carry out the campaign this week, targeting more than 500,000 children under the age of five using the oral anti-polio vaccine.
UNICEF confirmed that this round marks the second phase of the campaign, stressing that every dose provides essential protection for children against a preventable, life-threatening disease.
