Speaking at the 29th session of the Arab Telecommunications and Information Ministers Council in Cairo, Minister of Digital Transformation and Communications Engineer Ahmed Dirdiri Ghandour said that technology, when managed with vision and responsibility, can empower people and help build a more stable and sustainable future.
He outlined the core pillars of Sudan’s telecommunications and digital transformation pathway, which include empowering citizens—particularly youth—strengthening government and institutional readiness through digital governance, building trust and stability in the digital environment, and aligning national policies with regional and international frameworks.
Ghandour affirmed that the strategy is being implemented through a practical, phased approach that is already improving service efficiency, enhancing institutional performance, and expanding opportunities for participation in the digital economy. In this context, he announced the launch of the Sudanese Cybersecurity Authority as the national reference body for governing and regulating cybersecurity—an institutional step aimed at securing digital transformation and reinforcing the state’s preparedness for the future.
