In a related development, David Mototoko, the AfDB’s Country ‎Director for Sudan, announced that the Port Sudan Water Project ‎would be launched in November 2026, with funding from the Bank ‎and implementation by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). ‎He also noted ongoing efforts to address the challenges facing water ‎facilities in Khartoum State. ‎
