Sudan is participating with a high-level delegation in the 17th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD), which begins today, Monday, in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, with the participation of 197 parties under the theme “Restore Land, Restore Hope.”

The conference focuses on finding solutions to the challenges of drought, desertification, and land degradation, while promoting rangeland management and international partnerships.

The Sudanese delegation includes representatives from ministries and government agencies, research centers, youth groups, and civil society organizations. Sudan seeks to present its needs during the recovery phase, particularly the restoration of agricultural land and rangelands and support for food security, while attracting international financing and partnerships for projects aimed at combating desertification and managing natural resources.
