The Fact-Finding Mission for Sudan said it had documented the recruitment, training and deployment of up to 2,000 former Colombian military personnel to fight alongside the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, according to Asharq.

The mission also uncovered transnational networks operating across several countries that were involved in providing the RSF militia with foreign fighters, training, weapons and logistical support.

It said it had documented grave violations of human rights and international humanitarian law during operations in El-Fasher, noting that some of the violations bore the hallmarks of genocide.

The mission called on states to enforce the arms embargo imposed on Darfur and to halt the transfer of weapons and military equipment where there is a substantial risk that they could be used to commit serious violations.
