European Parliament Adopts Resolution Condemning War Crimes in Sudan

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution on Sudan by a vote of 476 in favor, 28 against, and 96 abstentions, condemning war crimes and violations committed in the country, particularly during the siege of El Obeid.

The resolution called for the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia to be designated as a terrorist organization, sanctions to be imposed on those supporting it, and an end to arms supplies to the group.

The European Parliament also called for increased humanitarian assistance and the opening of safe corridors to deliver aid to El Obeid and other affected areas.
