Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salem, has welcomed an initiative proposed by the UN Secretary-General's Personal Envoy for Sudan, Risto Pekka Haavisto, calling for cooperation among the Government of Sudan, the Envoy's Office, and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding an exchange of prisoners of war between the Sudanese government and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
The Minister reaffirmed the Sudanese government's concern for the lives of its citizens across the country and underscored its commitment to the legal and international procedures governing such cases.
