KHARTOUM, (Nabaa Sudan) — Prime Minister’s Adviser Musleh Nassar said that the United States’ refusal to grant the President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) an entry visa to attend the proceedings of the United Nations General Assembly, and linking the visa to his signing of the proposed truce, constitutes “unacceptable political blackmail.”
In a statement to SUNA on Saturday, Nassar explained that the truce, which is supported by some international parties, is intended, according to him, to give the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia an opportunity to catch their breath and continue the “destruction and devastation” in the country after the successive defeats they have suffered at the hands of the Sudanese Armed Forces and supporting forces.
