Preparations have begun for the establishment of the first addiction treatment hospital in Khartoum State, following directives from Prime Minister Kamil Idris.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development held a ministerial meeting attended by the federal ministers of Health, Culture and Information, and Tourism, as well as the Wali of Khartoum State. The meeting discussed the hospital’s technical and specialized requirements, along with treatment, rehabilitation, and awareness programs addressing the risks of addiction.

The meeting issued recommendations to develop the project's architectural and technical plans, with a follow-up meeting to be held to finalize arrangements. Participants also praised the role of business leaders supporting the initiative.
