Representatives of the Quintet Mechanism on Sudan will begin a visit to Khartoum on Tuesday to hold consultations with Sudanese parties.
The Quintet — comprising representatives of the African Union (AU), the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the League of Arab States, the European Union and the United Nations — said in a statement issued on Monday that it would visit Sudan from September 8 to 10 as part of intensive efforts to engage with relevant Sudanese parties and hold direct political consultations on the ground.
“During the visit, the Quintet will hear assessments of the current situation and exchange views on the work it has carried out so far,” the statement said.
