The five-member mechanism held a meeting on Wednesday with the Preparatory Committee for the Sudanese-Sudanese Dialogue at Al Salam Rotana Hotel in Khartoum, with the participation of the committee’s spokesperson, Engineer Othman Mirghani, committee member Othman Mirghani Al-Hussein, and several other members.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the United Nations, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the European Union, the Arab League, and the African Union. Discussions focused on developments in efforts to create a conducive environment for Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue and support consultations among political, civil, and community forces.
The meeting comes amid intensified activity by the five-member mechanism inside Sudan and its meetings with various political forces and Sudanese stakeholders, as the Preparatory Committee seeks to advance a Sudanese-led dialogue process aimed at building consensus on a vision for addressing the crisis and ending the war.
