UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper warned of the risk of atrocities occurring in Al-Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan State, saying the city stands on the brink of a crisis that could deepen the wounds left by events in Al-Fashir.
She said that a repetition of such atrocities in Al-Obeid could not be allowed, calling for urgent action to prevent further deterioration of the situation and to protect civilians.
