The United Kingdom will provide around £146 million through UN agencies over the next three years as part of efforts to address the crisis in Sudan and protect civilians, British Envoy to Sudan Richard Crowder said.

In a post on X, Crowder said the UK was closely following the Sudan crisis and working with the European Union and the African Union to protect civilians.

Crowder said he had visited Khartoum and seen sites damaged by the armed conflict, including the British Embassy buildings.

He affirmed his country’s readiness to work with all parties to prevent atrocities in Sudan, including the killing of civilians by drones, and expressed hope of returning to Khartoum one day.
