Dr. Faisal Ahmed Al-Noor, Country Director for Sudan of the Sudanese American Physicians Association (SAPA), has won the 2026 Ibn Qurrah International Award presented by the National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) in recognition of his contributions to medicine, science, humanitarian work, and community service.
The Federal Ministry of Health welcomed the honor as a source of pride for Sudan and its health sector, highlighting the international recognition of Sudanese doctors’ professional and humanitarian contributions.
Established in 1998, the Ibn Qurrah Award is among NAAMA’s highest honors and recognizes outstanding achievements in medicine, science, and service to Arab communities. It is named after Thabit ibn Qurrah Al-Harrani (826–901 CE), the renowned Arab physician and scholar of the Abbasid era.
